Beautiful. Blur

Beautiful Blur
ONTARI

He stared at the surface, saw something divine,

A face that was flawless, frozen in time.

Reached out with longing, but touched only glass,

Fell for a dream that would never look back.

He spoke to the water, begged it to stay,

But the ripples would answer, then just drift away.

He waited for love in a face made of light,

And withered alone in the arms of the night.

And he loved the light, not the soul underneath,

Chased his own ghost till it pulled out his teeth.

And he stayed for the promise he painted on her,

But just drowned in a whisper, a beautiful blur.

He drifts through the days with a half-finished name,

A shape in the crowd no one tries to reclaim.

He speaks like a page that’s been weathered and torn,

Still waiting for someone he wished had been born.

Now he walks like a question no one can hear,

Wears love like a coat that he stitched out of fear.

He became the silence he once tried to fill,

A ghost in his body, pretending he’s still.

And he loved the light, not the soul underneath,

Chased his own ghost till it pulled out his teeth.

And he stayed for the promise he painted on her,

But just drowned in a whisper, a beautiful blur.

And he loved the light, not the soul underneath,

Chased his own ghost till it pulled out his teeth.

And he stayed for the promise he painted on her,

But just drowned in a whisper, a beautiful blur.

No more illusions, no more pretend,

I want to learn to love again.

So Let me live.

I don’t need answers, just something true,

A quiet place I can grow into.

So Let me live.
